-Experimenting with Green Tomatoes-
First of all, I thought a green tomato was something special; different from a regular red tomato. Actually it is a red tomato it just hasn’t turned red yet. People fry green tomatoes because they are too soft to fry once they turn red.
I finally fried some this weekend.
I sliced the tomatoes, dipped them in an egg white and milk mix with seasoning spices.
Then I dipped each one in corn meal, flour and bread crumbs because I wanted a crispy crust.
I fried them in olive oil.
Next time I will deep fried them in cooking oil and I will also use a baking rack to let them cool.
All in all they still turned out pretty well. Mmmm, good eatin’!!!
